Chanel Collection Superstition For FALL 2013

If any of you have visited a chanel make-up counter recently, you may have seen their new fall make-up collection. The collection is called ‘superstition’. The Chanel Superstition collection is named for Coco Chanel’s own love of good luck charms and her own superstitious leanings. Gabrielle Chanel was a firm believer in luck, and surrounded herself with her favorite talismans and charms.  A firm believer in luck, Gabrielle Chanel surrounded herself with her favorite charms and talismans, as much for good fortune as for inspiration. The symbols that warded off superstitious fears now serve as silent muses for an enchanting Fall makeup collection. Sumptuous khaki tones are set off by new ‘lucky charm’ duos: entrancing, shade-matched pairs for cheeks and lips.

I got to play around with some of the makeup, and as always, I am in love! CHANEL makeup never seems to disappoint! Their products are such high quality and totally worth the splurge! Here’s my take:

ch

The LES 4 OMBRES MYSTÈRE quad is gorgeous! It has both muted and slightly shimmered shades that can be used in many different combinations. The black shade (top left) has a gorgeous undertone of golden sparkle, as does the golden ivory next to it. The colours above include two shades of Khaki and are lovely. As with all Chanel Eye shadows, they are super high quality, highly pigmented and there is no fall out, so you don’t waste a single speckle!

LE BLUSH CRÈME DE CHANEL Cream Blush

This innovative formula offers an enticing new way to blush. Simple to apply with fingertips or a brush, the powder-cream colour features sheer yet vibrant pigments for instant luminosity. The silky texture offers a long- wear satin finish, both soft and comfortable for every skin type. Mix and match the eight versatile shades, use as primer to enhance the wear of another blush or powder, or pair seamlessly with a complementary lip colour for a mesmerizing match.

I’m a big fan of cream blush, so I was happy to see that this collection from CHANEL had some lovely cream blushers. I got to play with Presage, an apricot, almost peachy shade. The texture is soft and not as creamy as you’d expect. It almost turns to a powder finish on the skin and blends beautifully. The case of the blusher is a lot more compact than the standard CHANEL blush compacts, and comes in six shades. Destiny (intense beige), Presage (apricot), Revelation (coral pink), Inspiration (soft blush pink), Affinite (intense blush pink) and Fantastic (burgundy).

That’s all for today guysss.

Different ways to stylise your scarves!

You know how you see gorgeous scarves or shawls in a store and you know you have to buy them but once they’re there you don’t really know how to wear them to work with your outfit. Well, it is time to bring out those scarves from the very back of your closet because I am going to tell you a few new and different ways to stylise those scarves.

THE TURTLE NECK

This is a simple look that can work in any season! All you have to do is take your scarf and wrap it loosely around your neck and tie two small knots on the two ends.

During the winters, its a great way to wear your mufflers. It looks super cozy and cute especially if a brighter colour is used to bring life to your normally dark coats and blazers.

Latest-Scarf-Folding-Around-Neck

Not only that, its also an adorable way to add a little flair to your summer outfit! Great for a day out to the park or beach.

THE SCARF BELT

This is one of my favourite ways of styling my scarves! It not only spices up your get-up but also saves some bucks on the belts 😉

You just simply have to take your scarf through from where you take your belt and that’s about it.

I remember doing this the last time I went to my friend’s party down a shack near the beach. It looked super chic with my white Zara shorts and I got the scarf from a market at the beach only!

scarf-belt

You can also tie the belt around a dress to give it a decorative look. This black and white scarf was a great way to style the otherwise plain black dress.

scarf-belt (1)

Other than this, what you can do is wear a cute thin belt over your dress or shirt, put the scarf hanging from around your neck and put its too lose ends through the belt to give a very Seventeen Magazine look!

It will look something like this:

THE HEADBAND

This is an extremely lovable look which is very simple to pull off. All you have to do is take a shorter scarf and wrap it from the scalp behind your neck to the top and tie it neatly. If the scarf is long, don’t worry, all you have to do is wrap it around twice this way your knot goes at the back of your neck.

Its perfect for protecting your hair from the wind so make sure you try this next time you go out on a windy day. And it also utilises the thinner and lighter scarves.

Its a very vintage look and works perfectly with some 80’s accessories like these round glasses and red lipstick.

It can also be tied in a girly little bow. Just make sure the bow is not too small nor too big.

Also, to change it up a bit, you can twist your scarves together in a rope-like manner and get a really lovely headband like this:

How to: shape your eyebrows in 8 easy steps!

Most people say eyebrows are the frame of the face, but let me tell you: now is the time of full-browed ladies like Cara Delevingne and Lily Collins, now, more than ever, brows need to be in tip top shape.

So, here’s how:

1)

First things first: clean up any stray hairs between your brows, or intolerably below your natural brow line. Avoid the super-magnifying mirror, though—we tend to overdo it when we can’t see the big picture. Pro Tip: Tweezerman’s slanted tweezer never lets us down.

eye1

2)

Next, brush your brows up and out with a spool brush, to see your natural shape and which areas need to be filled in. This item pulls double duty, but any clean mascara brush does the trick.

eye2

3)

Now, the hard part: Filling in your brows. To find the right shape, take an eyebrow or eyeliner pencil that’ll leave a mark, but is easily removable. Mark the spot where the pencil hits when your brows intersect it with each of the following places: The sides of your nose, your pupils, and the outer corners of your eyes.

Then, take an eyebrow pencil and fill your brows in using light strokes, with the points as guidelines. We love Benefit’s Instant Brow because it’s super soft and waxy, so looks natural without making us press so hard we take out real hairs (it’s happened). Brush through with the spool brush to make it even more convincing.

4)

If you’re searching for a perfect color match, you can opt for the powder option. These are great for when you just want to darken your brows or fill in sparse areas without creating an entirely new shape (this one’s for you, blondes), and Urban Decay’s Brow Box comes equipped for everything.

5)

An angled brush is best for powder application, and we love the slightly flexible synthetic fibers in this one. Natural fibers are usually more stiff, if that’s what you’re looking for.

Benefit Hard Angle/Definer Brush, $20, Ulta

6)

Wax pencils are a great option to keep everything in place if you’ve got thick, unruly brows, although we like to rub it on with our finger for a slightly more natural look.

7)

Clear mascara is a cheap alternative to wax, and has almost the same effect. Plus, the mascara wand makes for easy application.

8)

Finish off with a highlighter either right underneath or above your arch—either helps to brighten and open up your eyes. This is one step that we tend to skip but know we shouldn’t, because it makes a surprisingly big difference. If you don’t want to spring for a separate pencil, light pink or bone white eyeshadow has the same effect.

That’s about it guys.

Hope this helps!

Printed Pants Love!

We’re sooo in love with the printed pants trend these days! I mean there’s so much you can try with this look. So today we’re gonna show you guys different ways you can pull this off!

Floral Printed Pants

first of all, here’s a collage we made for you guys, so you can clearly the different types of floral pants in the market. They look great in every season, and we’re sure after you read this you will pull this look of really well. it’s good to use pastel colours with floral pants if you want to create a girly effect.

However, if you want to create a casual look, you can pair your floral pants with a casual grey tee, like Miranda Kerr in the photo:

floral2

The accessories we would pair with floral pants would be in nude colours like in the photo below. A chic watch or bracelet will help complete your look!

floral3

For a more bold look, you can pair a bold floral print with a grey shirt and a black blazer like this:

Striped Pants

So this is the classic black & white vertical striped pants. There are many ways to style these. The following picture that we’ve put together shows three different ways in which you can wear these:

striped4

The first one is a fancy bell bottom, good for a formal outing or for work.

Second one exhibits a nonchalant rolled up look with a white top and leather jacket.

And the third is the casual skinny that works with just about anything!

The thinner striped ones look super cool with a punk rock look!! Put on some nice shades and a funky coloured beanie to complete the look.

stripes2

To add a little spice in the otherwise black and white façade, wear a coloured jacket or other accessories!

We like how this beige leather jacket looks. (Don’t miss the groovy hat!)

stripes3

Camo Pants

Everyone’s favourite pants these days, and ours too, are camo pants!  They look super cool and can be pulled off really easily. If you want a rock chic look for your camo pants, pair them with a leather jacket and shades, or even a grey tee. Here are photos of the look you want:

How to: Flawless Water Marble Manicure!

So I remember the first time I came across a water marble nail art video on youtube, I got totally hooked! But I also remember that I tried and tried and just couldn’t get it right urgh

To all of those who don’t know what water marble is, don’t worry, Cyra‘s here for you :*

its just like marble cake except with nail colours and you can’t eat it

I thought we could start off with a simple tutorial and then move on the tips and tricks!

Image

Isn’t it just GORGEOUS?!

And totally easy to do 😀

Here are a few things you girls need to keep in mind:

  • Make sure the water is room temperature filtered water.
  • Do NOT let the nail polish dry while in water.
  • Wrap a material (preferably, transparent tape) around – but not on top of – your nail to make sure the nail colour does not come on your skin.
  • If your nail polish still spreads on your skin, dip a q-tip in your nail polish remover and use to tidy up your beautiful manicure.
  • Best nail polish brand for water marble manicures, from my experience is China Glaze.

Now here are a few of MY successful water marble nail art:

I don’t know about you but I’m a huge blue+purple fan!

Image

These PINK hearts took a lot of trial and error but a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do 😉

Its perfect for Valentine’s Day

Image

This is how you should make the designs on your cup for the hearts!

Image

Now for something funky!

The BUMBLEBEE stripes!

I did this for my friend last Halloween:

Image

All you have to do is make sure you make a black and yellow bullseye in your cup of water and use your toothpick to make straight lines left and right.

Its not necessary the stripes have to be yellow and black:

Image

This Midnight Blue and Silver look is perfect for a date, girls night out or a late night party!

Here’s a really COLOURFUL and adorable one:

Image

Perfect for a fun day at the beach or an afternoon picnic ✿

If you have really long nails like my sister’s then you can even do a half marble and accessorise it with some gems or beads *_*

Image

Did this for my sister on her wedding. (Love you Anyla!)

So that’s it for water marble manicures.

Hope you try it and LOVE IT!

Kisses,

Cyra
